A Simple And Mini Mindful Morning Routine

You’ve probably heard the term morning routine.
A lot of entrepreneurs and productivity influencers talk about it. It often involves a series of workouts, meditation, cold showers, or special diets, all aiming to “set the tone for your day.”
To me, spending two hours doing all of that at 5 a.m. just isn’t sustainable.
But if the goal is simply to set the tone, then maybe it doesn’t need to be long or packed with a bunch of tasks that make you stressful.
So here’s my mini morning routine. It works for me, helps me stay mindful, and doesn’t come with any pressure.
Step 1: Breathe Before the Day Begins
You can do it anywhere, on your desk, on transportation, even while you’re still in bed:
- Inhale, acknowledge the inhale
- Exhale, acknowledge the exhale
- In, deep
- Out, slow
- In, feel your body
- Out, relax it
- In, feel your mind
- Out, notice the thoughts
- In, see your mind
- Out, open it like a wide space (a yard, an ocean, a big lake, a forest...)
- In, feel the moment
- Out, enjoy the moment
Step 2: Say a Few Words to Yourself
This can be your intention or focus for the day. Say it slowly over 3 breaths.
Here’s mine:
- In, I have the power of peace and freedom
- Out, I can focus on everything I’m going to do and experience today
× 3 times
You can find your own version. If you don’t know what to say, well, ask ChatGPT. (That’s what I did, and it works lol.)
Step 3: Move Just a Little
Get up. Stretch. Do some squats. Jump a little.
Get your blood flowing.
That’s it, just 9 breaths and one minute movement.
Try it and observe how your day unfolds.
It’s short, pressure-free, and kind to yourself.
