Struggling with Mindfulness? You’re Not Alone

Struggling with Mindfulness? You’re Not Alone

You’re excited to practice mindfulness.
You breathe, trying to focus on feeling the moment.
But you just can’t feel anything, the thoughts are still climbing all around your head.
Every time you take one or two breaths, the concentration disappears.
The more you try, the more expectations you build, and the farther you are from the present.

This is totally normal. Practicing mindfulness is just like your everyday routines.
There will be some good days, and some not-so-good ones.
Maybe you're too tired, your mind feels foggy, the weather is too hot or too cold, you’ve got too much to do, or you're just not in the mood.
That’s okay.

Acknowledge that you're in this state.
One helpful way is to take a third-person view, observe yourself gently.
Accept it.
Then simply move on.

Move on with what you’re doing, but keep your breath in mind.
Let yourself feel your breath, just that.
And somehow, at some point, you’ll find yourself back in mindfulness again.

Welcome.
